CAN BAS is located in the heart of the Penedès, Southwest of Barcelona, at the foot of the Montserrat mountain.
From the dawn of civilization, the Roman presence bestowed upon Can Bas. The Via Augusta crossed the land that later became the Can Bas Estate. During the 2nd Century, Can Bas became an agricultural site dedicated primarily to the making of wine.
The early 10th Century heralded the rise of the new Christian kings and whiteness of this was the Romanesque church, built at the time, which still stands today. The foundation of the church was built with boulders taken from the original Via Augusta.
Here Ventura acquired the estate of Can Bas in 2011 with the ambition to preserve and divulge its historic legacy. This acquisition represents an unique challenge to restore Can Bas splendor as an estate and the opportunity to revive its vineyards and to craft modern-day icon wines from the Penedès heartland.
